Make sure your computer meets the following requirements:
Win2000/XP,
256 megabytes of RAM (in general 512 megabytes is recommended),
At least Pentium III or equivalent,
56k dialup internet connection (in general broadband with 256k recommended).

I'm receiving the following error message: 'unable to connect to the server'.
Please check that you have entered the correct server settings into SR.
In order to do that, please start SR and immediately click 'Settings'. Then, please verify
that you have entered the correct information into both "Naming Server" and "Server Name" entries.
Note: make sure there are no surplus spaces and no capital letters, since SR is case sensitive.
Additionally, please click on the 'get defaults' button (on the lower left side) and try to re-connect.
Are you still unable to connect? There may be only three more reasons for that, so bear with us:.
1. There is a firewall program blocking the SR console.
You may go to our
firewall troubleshooting section
in order to resolve the situation.
2. Your internet connection is down.
3. You do not have the appropriate system requirements.
There requirements are indicated first in the installation issues.
If all these solutions can't get SR to connect to the server,
please send an email to
support@strategyrunner.com along with your Console.log file,
it is located under this path: C:\Program Files\StrategyRunner\Real(Paper)\bin.

If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or above,
a yellow bar may appear on the top of the page, blocking the download from occurring.
Click on the bar and then click 'Download File'.

I am unable to log in using my password.
SR is case sensitive; therefore, please check you are entering your password
exactly as it was given to you (upper and lower case letters, watch for surplus spaces).
If you are sure you are entering your password appropriately, please an email to your broker, requesting the correct password.

I try to run the SR Console but it freezes up on me.
This message indicates that all system resources were used
by various applications and occurs specifically in Windows 98. Please check if you have the minimal SR requirements.

Please leave Port setting as is (DEFAULT).

Which ports do I need to enable in order to use SR, if I have a corporate firewall setup?
Make sure you open the following inbound ports: 11023 and either 5001
(if you're trading REAL Mode) or 5101 (if you're trading PAPER Mode).

There is no minimal bandwidth requirement.

We currently don't support Windows for Pocket PC.
We support Windows Operation Systems from Windows 2000 and higher.

I am getting the following message during the installation: Error 1327. Invalid Drive: v:\
Please check that you have Administrator permissions
on your computer (when logging to Windows). Otherwise you will not be allowed
to install any software on your computer (including SR).

No. SR is server base, therefore, all orders are sent
to our secure server for execution. Once the orders have been sent, you may turn
off your PC and rest assure that your orders will be executed appropriately.

We need you to perform the following check:
1. Start SR and immediately click 'Settings'.
Copy the Naming Server parameter.
2. Go to 'Start'-'Run' and type the following: cmd (click enter).
3. In the black window that appears, type 'telnet [Your naming server parameter
(indicated above) 11023 and press enter].
For example: telnet stmanwin1.manfinancial.com 11023
4. You should see a black window with a blinking cursor at the left upper window.
If you see something else, please contact your interenet service
provider and tell him you cannot connect to your Naming Server parameter address.
Otherwise, let us know and send us your Naming Server parameter and Server Name parameter
(email to support@strategyrunner.com).

Strategy Runner has been down during the most active part of the day now for over 30 minutes.
It should be problem on your side. We suggest you to use some network monitoring tool such as PingPlotter
( http://www.pingplotter.com). Use the Naming Service as target host.
If you will see that PingPlotter is clean but StrategyRunner dissconnects please send us the PingPlotter screen capture.
Also, check with your ISP provider why you have issues connecting to our servers.

My data feed quit working about half an hour ago, will my orders be processed correctly?
In most cases, the answer is yes.
SR is server based,therefore, all sent orders are kept securely on our server and will be processed correctly.
In fewer cases though, this problem can occur in the exchange itself, thus, we recommend to check with your broker in anycase.

The orders are taken when the market reaches the chosen limits.
This is since all orders are kept on our server (located at your brokerage house) at real time.
All you see is the refresh rates on your PC, which seems lagging behind the market.

No.

Is there a setting or option for day market orders only?
Yes. You may set the SR console to trade during
certain session hours which you define. Just click on 'Session Hours' command box
(button located above the chart) and define your session hours.

Can I see multiple contract months on SR and thus spread trade?
Up till version 3.0 the answer is no. With the release of version 3.0, you'll
be able to see multiple contracts from different periods and thus spread trade.

Sometimes I get fills within seconds, and at other times, I can watch my price
get hit many times over a period of 3 or 4 minutes, but no fill. Is this normal behavior?
This is very common when trading big contracts like the MINI S&P.
This is how the exchange works and it has nothing to do with Strategy Runner.
The exchange sorts limit orders with the same price on a FIFO (First In First Out) basis.
Sometimes, your order will be at the top of the queue and other times at the bottom.

This happens when, for some reason, the exchange refuses to cancel an order.

What causes this error - "PATS: Unexpected Error Trapped - Routine Aborted" failures?
"PATS: Unexpected Error Trapped - Routine Aborted" happens only for real trading.
This message means that for unknown reason PATS was unable to send the order. We are working with PATS on this problem.

This means that your broker did not input the correct risk control parameters for you.

What does this error message mean: 'Account is blocked for sending orders'?
It happens because you send too many orders
in a very short period of time. It is an SR protection mechanism and can be modified
by having your broker requesting it from us.

This means the account was (probably) blocked and is now released,
thus, you can trade your account now.

What is the breakeven function?
Breakeven is a function similar to the trailing stop.
It operates when using ScaleOut as your exit style (trailing stops, by the way, operate when using Bracket as your exit style).
Breakeven modifies (moves) your 'stop loss' to the first profit target, once it is filled.

What's the difference between liquidation and Trade out?
Liquidation performs the following:
1. Cancels your working orders.
2. Sends an opposing market order and verifies you are flat.
What does this mean?
The system first waits for an exchange authorization to cancel all your working orders.
Only after your working orders are cancelled, does the system send an opposing market order to your current position, making you flat.
On the other hand, Trade Out is a panic button.
1. It sends an opposing market order to your current position.
2. It does not necessarily wait till the exchange cancels your orders, thus, it may bring you close to your trading limit.

Can I decide if to cancel or keep my working orders on Trade Out?
Yes. In the console, under settings -> system options -> trading,
you can check/uncheck"cancel orders in Trade Out".

Is it possible to find a way to reverse my position if my trailing stops are hit
and attach the same trailing stops to the reversed position?
Use the reverse button in the Trading Pad. Set your bracket
parameters before you hit the reverse button.

Should I use liquidate or trade out?
It depends on you. Liquidate order will make sure you're flat,
but will do it relatively slow, since it will first cancel your working orders. On the other hand,
Trade Out may or may not get you flat; however, it will definitely act faster (the way a panic button needs to work).
Despite its disadvantages, Trade Out is a tool designed for fast moving markets.

I want to protect the profit I have with a trailing stop, how do I place that order
so that the trailing stop would be the only order?
First, you need to stop your strategy (
done by clicking strategy -> stop strategy in the main menu).
Note that the positions that were in ScaleOut mode, are now in manual mode.
You can therefore protect your profit by covering your strategy and using a trailing stop.

When inside the console, press the"Print Screen" button in your keyboard (one button left to F12).

(It actually means the last number of contracts traded (market order).
